Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) is proud to recognize Abdallah Ahmed Mohamed as our Volunteer of the Month for April 2026.

Originally from Sudan, Abdallah arrived in Canada in 2016. His own experience as a newcomer and the support he received from organizations like ISC continue to inspire his commitment to giving back.

Today, Abdallah volunteers with ISC and the DI Free Goods Program Donation Centre, where he supports individuals from diverse backgrounds. Fluent in English, Arabic, and Masalit, with basic French, he helps create meaningful connections and provides support to those navigating their own settlement journeys.

Abdallah’s journey in Canada reflects his dedication and resilience. After completing ESL and academic upgrading, he recently graduated from Bow Valley College with a social work diploma, balancing his studies with work along the way.

What he values most about volunteering is the opportunity to connect with people and make a positive impact in their lives.

“It is rewarding to support others and witness their growth and progress.”

Abdallah plans to continue volunteering as a way to give back to the community that supported him, while continuing to grow both personally and professionally.

“Abdallah is an exceptional volunteer. He is consistently punctual, dresses in professional office attire, and demonstrates a warm, approachable personality. He has a natural willingness to support clients and readily assists teammates with any tasks required. His communication is clear and professional, and his contributions to the Client Care Team are consistently valuable and never go unnoticed.
