Zeel Patel immigrated to Canada from India in 2004. He attended the prestigious MIT Launch program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he studied youth entrepreneurship. He is currently a researcher at the University of Calgary and is studying the effects of chemical inhibitors on various forms of cancers.At at the age of 16, Zeel founded his own non-profit organization, Omni Scientific, which aims to connect youth across Calgary to their own research labs in the city. Zeel was ranked internationally and placed #1 in Canada in the International Pascal Mathematics Competition, and has been the recipient of the Best Debater In Alberta award at the Oxford National Debating Championship. Zeel was selected to represent Canada on the international stage in the 2016 World Scholar’s Cup.
