The Brenda Strafford Foundation (BSF) is dedicated to our mission to optimize well-being and enrich people’s lives through a comprehensive and diverse range of services including: Aging Care & Senior Living; Community Supports; International Healthcare; and Research & Innovation. Putting people first is a way of life at BSF. It’s in our values. And it’s fundamental to the way we do things – ‘The BSF Way.’ By realizing the individual needs of our residents, clients, and families, we all play a role and make a difference in the preservation of dignity and the pursuit of happiness for those we serve.

Locally, BSF owns and operates five continuing care sites in Calgary and Okotoks. A team of approximately 1,500 employees provide exceptional person-centered care and services with a focus on prioritizing quality of life and high-quality care to more than 1,000 older adults and their families within our Aging Care and Seniors Living communities.

BSF also plays a crucial role in the prevention of domestic violence and homelessness through local community support programs. BSF’s Heart Home Network operates a second stage (post-emergency) shelter in Calgary providing a safe housing environment and essential services to support women and children at risk of family violence to transition back into the community.
