Living and Learning Foundational Life Skills is a program for adults who want to improve their communication skills in areas of speaking, reading, and writing in English. Participants will learn about Canadian culture, continuing education and employment, and community resources. Participants will become a part of a volunteer group and get a chance to work as a volunteer in different communities around Calgary.

This program is for adult learners experiencing sociocultural/financial barriers, to support building confidence in handle the challenges of everyday life.

  • Series of workshops/classroom skill development sessions
  • Opportunity to practice skills in community volunteering projects
  • Referrals (as needed)
  • Support accessing Calgary resources
  • Transit tickets (as needed)

Transportation to and from volunteer opportunities


12weeks, 2 hrs/week, three intakes per year
