A catalyst for transformational change, Hyder Hassan is responsible for developing and executing high-impact collaboratives within the newcomer-serving sector to improve the lives of immigrants and refugees in Calgary.
Hyder has over 15 years of experience serving in civil society, private sector, finance, and government sectors as a transformational and visionary leader. Before joining Immigrant Services Calgary as the Chief Executive Officer, he spent over 10 years in the financial industry, creating high-performance teams and managing portfolios valued over $500 million. As a passionate advocate for vulnerable populations, Hyder co-founded FullSoul, a not-for-profit organization that provides Ugandan health facilities with medical supplies for safer childbirths.
Hyder holds a master of science degree in innovation and entrepreneurship. Between 2018 and 2019, he was named one of Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40, Calgary Herald’s Compelling Calgarian, and was awarded the Immigrants of Distinction Award (Under 35).
