Joanne Aime

Joanne is a committed leader with over 30 years of experience leading large-scale complex, multi-phase projects across different industries, most notably the design and build of two healthcare facilities in Calgary.  A daughter of immigrant parents who arrived in Canada with nothing more than dreams, she brings her interest and expertise to the newcomer-serving sector to ensure limited resources are used to their maximum potential.

Before joining Immigrant Services Calgary as the Chief Operating Officer in April 2023, Joanne held the position of Senior Project Lead for Alberta Health Services (AHS) where she led a team of professionals in the design, build, and commissioning of the world-class $1.5 billion Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary. Prior to that, she assumed various other leadership roles across the healthcare, energy, and telecommunications sectors, lending her results-oriented, value-based approach to unleashing the potential of teams to achieve goals that otherwise might not have been attainable.  This is what she is passionate about.

Joanne holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University, with first-class standings. Outside of work, she stays active, volunteering with different charities and initiatives in her local community and abroad.
