Nawal Al-Busaidi

Nawal Al-Busaidi, a proven community-builder driven by purpose and delivering with passion, has nearly 20 years of experience in multicultural not-for-profit organizations, leadership, social advocacy, and managing social and economic development programs. Nawal has extensive experience in monitoring service provision of government-funded programs, developing strategic partnerships to address emerging needs, and fostering equitable and accessible integrated service models.

Prior to joining ISC as chief executive officer, Nawal was the director of refugee services with COSTI Immigrant Services, a $100 million newcomer-serving Toronto organization, where she successfully managed and oversaw a $70 million budget, over 200 staff, and 3,500 refugee clients. A leader in human and environmental risk mitigation management, financial risk analysis, and strategic planning, Nawal provided senior-level leadership and oversight to all aspects of COSTI’s resettlement and integration programs with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Nawal holds degrees in computer science engineering and Turkish language and literature, and speaks six languages fluently.
