Ashley Andrade started volunteering with Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) in our Early Learning Across Cultures (ELAC) program in June 2021. She began by joining the Zoom classes and capturing photos while staff were teaching. This resulted in her creation of a delightful video featuring all the children's artistic accomplishments.
Erik became a Canadian citizen in 2017 after being a permanent resident for several years.

Effective Immediately: ISC’s Becoming a Better You Program and General Counselling Services will be transitioning to the Centre for Newcomers on July 1, 2021.
ISC is delighted to announce that our Becoming a Better You Program and General Counselling Services will be transferred to the Centre for Newcomers. Effective immediately all new referrals should be directed to the Centre for Newcomers for client assignments and supports.
Shikha stated volunteering with Immigrant Services Calgary in July of 2020 and was volunteering with our CLARC language assessment center as of September 2020. She volunteered over 100 hours in only 3 months! Shikha is no longer volunteering with ISC, but her experiences volunteering with us helped to get her a new job, and we are very proud of her accomplishments. She said this about her experience with volunteering with ISC, volunteering at Immigration Services Calgary was an enriching and remarkable experience.
Nancy came to Canada when she was 16. ISC helped her family to settle in Calgary and provided employment training to her mother who successfully found a job. She wanted to give back to the organization who supported her family's settlement, she started volunteering as a youth mentor in 2008. She has contributed over 200 hours since starting her volunteer journey with Immigrant Service Calgary.
Kulbir Dhillon is a proud Canadian, she is an amazing multitasker, providing both meals and homework assistance for her two children and being the coordinator for her husband’s real estate business. She loves to volunteer for Immigration Services Calgary, where she can help the needy and support her community. Kulbir says that she feels grateful to be able to give back through volunteering.
