Support newcomer children and families through Immigrant Services Calgary and Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink. Donate before August 31 and make an impact.

How It Works

When you donate to ISC through Rogers Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink, your generosity goes even further:

  • Your donation is matched up to 50% through the Rogers Charity Classic Foundation.
  • 100% of your gift goes directly to ISC programs supporting newcomer children and their families. You support essential programs for newcomer children and families right here in Calgary, including ISC's Healthy Start program.

Every Dollar Helps Kids in Your Community

Your donation supports Healthy Start Calgary, ISC's program for newcomer families with young children. Through personalized assessments, group sessions, and community connections, Healthy Start Calgary helps provide access to:

  • Infant essentials and grocery support
  • Prenatal and postnatal healthcare guidance
  • Early childhood development resources
  • Mental health and parenting support
  • Connections to childcare, recreation, and community programs
  • Transit support

Every Donation Tells a Story

“As a single mother new to Canada, I was overwhelmed with the challenges of starting over. Healthy Start Calgary gave me food support, baby essentials, and parenting help. But most of all, it gave me community and confidence.” — ISC Program Participant.

When families get connected to care, they stay healthy, thrive, and contribute to our communities.

Real Impact for Calgary Families

Last year, Our Healthy Start Calgary program reached newcomer families across the city, connecting children and caregivers to the health, food, and community supports they need to thrive.

  • 453 newcomer families served with personalized support plans for children aged 0–6
  • 5,040+ referrals made to community programs supporting early childhood, childcare, and family well-being
  • 218 caregivers reached through group sessions on early childhood development, maternal health, nutrition, and mental well-being

Why does this matter? Alberta's child poverty rate is *16.1%, and rates are even higher for newcomer families. Many pregnant newcomers delay critical prenatal and postnatal care due to language barriers and eligibility confusion. When families get connected to care early, children grow up healthier, more confident, and better prepared for school and life.
