The Role of Interpreters and Translators in the Immigrant Settlement Journey 

Denys is a Ukrainian immigrant who recently moved to Calgary. Upon his arrival, he realized he needed to translate his diploma from Ukrainian to English. 

Not knowing how best to proceed, he searched online for translation services in Calgary and found Immigrant Services Calgary at the top of his search results.  

Denys’ appointment at Immigrant Services Calgary’s Interpretation and Translation Centre was smooth and easy. “I was very pleased with the translation service I received, and it was delivered within the deadline,” he said. 

Denys is already recommending ITC’s services to others, and he looks forward to using the service again in the future. 

He is just one of the many immigrants who have benefited from the Interpretation and Translation Centre's services. 

About the Interpretation and Translation Centre (ITC) 

The Interpretation and Translation Centre at Immigrant Services Calgary is an approved translator by the Government of Alberta. It specializes in breaking communication barriers between individuals and organizations across different languages and cultures.  

Currently offering interpretation and translation services in 85 languages, the team of professional and certified translators ensure a clear and accurate exchange of information, whether in written or spoken form.  

The ITC offers various services, including translation, interpretation, and transcription. All services are at a cost, except where grants or donations are available to offset this. 

September 30 is International Translation Day, a day that recognizes translation professionals all over the world.
