Parastoo smiles while ice skating in downtown CalgaryParastoo Hosseini is a new immigrant, she just moved to Canada five years ago. She is currently studying Biochemistry at the University of Calgary and looking forward to a career in medicine. She enjoys meeting new people and making connections, this is evident in her dedication to volunteering with Immigrant Services Calgary.

Parastoo has been volunteering with ISC since 2015 and has contributed over 170 hours in various programs. She has put a number of hours in volunteering as a youth Mentee with the Core Connections programs, being actively involved in activities such volunteering at Inn from the Cold in 2018, the Canada Picnic in 2019, and professional development courses in 2020. Parastoo is now looking to transition into becoming a youth mentor for the Core Connections group as well as expanding her volunteer skills to assisting with office support.

We would like to celebrate and cheer on Parastoo for being our Volunteer of the Month for March!

"Parastoo has always been a kind and caring person who constantly demonstrates her desire to give back to the community. She is always looking for ways to give back and lend a hand.”
