The Coordinator, Registration Compliance is responsible for providing day-to-day professional and timely service to all Registrants of CPA Alberta.  The Coordinator, Registration Compliance is required to display solid commitment to the Registrations team; working with others to ensure accurate recording of mandatory Registrant information and timely follow-up of non-compliance situations, while recognizing the need to escalate matters when necessary.

This position reports to the Manager of Registration Compliance.

CPA Alberta has offices in Edmonton and Calgary and provides hybrid Telecommuting opportunities (working from home a maximum of 3 days a week).

What you bring

  • 2-3 years of experience in a corporate office environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is an asset.
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Methodical approach to work with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Results orientation, striving to achieve high levels of individual performance.

What you will be doing

  • Monitoring and following up on Registrant compliance pertaining to submission of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) declarations and completion of annual renewals.
  • Tracking and updating communication records for non-compliance related to suspensions and cancellations.
  • Assisting with the review of CPD verification requests for compliance with requirements.
  • Monitoring and following up with Corporate Registrants on professional liability insurance lapse notices and outstanding practice review costs.
  • Monitoring penalty submissions and assisting with suspensions and cancellations due to non-compliance.
  • Assisting the Officer, Member Compliance with communication to registrants on general compliance matters.
  • Preparing materials and resources for Registration Committee meetings.
  • Monitoring conditions, restrictions, and requirements placed on registrants, escalating matters when necessary.
  • Coordinating publication of names of suspended and cancelled registrants on the CPA Alberta website.
  • Watching over couriers and proof of deliveries to ensure receipt of suspension and cancellation notices.
  • Other tasks and projects assigned.
