Children & Parents
We offer programs for parents and families with children between the ages of 0 to 6. These programs are designed to prepare children for kindergarten by helping them improve their English language and literacy skills. We also offer programs for expectant mothers and parents with newborns. No matter which program is accessed, families will receive information about being a parent in Canada, the education system and other support services in Calgary. We can assist you in your first language if you need it.
This is a free program for parents and children to learn about other cultures and share their own cultural traditions. Children will Children play and learn together through drama, music, story-telling, arts and crafts and other social activities. Parents and caregivers participate in workshops, increase their knowledge about children’s physical, language and social development and access community resources. Families learn music, dance, art, language, and stories from other cultures and have opportunities to share their own cultural traditions with others.
This is a free program for pregnant women and mothers with babies, to make healthy lifestyle choices and access resources.
This licensed program helps children (ages 3-5) get ready for kindergarten by playing and learning with other children while practicing English. Parents can attend workshops that will support their child’s development.
This is a free program for families with children (ages 3-5) to make new friends, learn life skills, and practice their English.

A free program for parents and children (ages 1-3), to have fun, spend time together, and meet other families.

Families can borrow toys and books from our library to enjoy at home and return at a later time.

I wanted my child to join the program and found out that I learned as much as my child. I am a better reader now and I enjoy reading books with my child. I have something to look forward to every week when I can meet other mothers, practice English language speaking and learn more about Canada and Calgary.
