Vibha Kaushik

Vibha is a passionate social work researcher. Her program of research centers on newcomer research with a specific interest in newcomer settlement and integration, diversity and intersectionality, welcoming communities, social development, and linguistic challenges of non-native speakers. Her most recent work examined the settlement and integration needs of skilled immigrants in Calgary.

Before joining Immigrant Services Calgary as the Director of Research and Policy Development, Vibha worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Calgary. She focused her efforts on developing programming for social work field education in the newcomer service sector and received the 2021 Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship Award. She continues to teach in the Faculty of Social Work at the University of Calgary.

Vibha holds a PhD and a master's degree in social work, and a master's degree in German. She is a Registered Social Worker and a member of the Alberta College of Social Workers.
