Spotlight on Organizational Diversity: Celebrating Leaders in Workplace Inclusion

At Immigrant Services Calgary, we believe in honouring the remarkable contributions of immigrants and refugees to our vibrant and diverse community—which is why we launched the celebratory Immigrants of Distinction Awards (IDA) gala in 1997. Over 20 years later, this annual awards ceremony continues to bring hundreds of community and business leaders together to celebrate Calgary’s change-makers.

In our series of blogs highlighting the past year's award recipients, we now turn our attention to the Organizational Diversity category. This award is presented to an organization (business, government body, non-profit organization, or media outlet) that is a leader in embracing and promoting an inclusive, welcoming, and diverse workplace. The winner will be a shining example of how a company champions workplace diversity initiatives and has made significant contributions to supporting and integrating an ethnically diverse workforce.

Meet Pembina Pipeline Corporation: A Corporate Leader in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The winner of the 2023 IDA in the Organizational Diversity category is Pembina Pipeline Corporation, a leading energy transportation and midstream service provider that has served North America's energy industry for more than 65 years. Pembina is recognized for its comprehensive approach to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), which creates a differentiated experience for employees and all stakeholders.

This includes Inclusion Networks, company-wide EDI events, Acknowledgement Months, such as Black History, Indigenous History, Pride, and EDI Foundations Education, which aims to increase leaders’ understanding of the core concepts of EDI.
